Laugh Out Loud Funny

So, I watched a GREAT new show last night - it is called Modern Family. I was howling (not really uncommon for me, I laugh rather loud if you don't know me). Puhleeze, followers, if you do one thing for me, give yourself a laugh and watch this show. I hope the second week is as good as the first week...

Dilemma: Grey's Anatomy starts tonight. I quit watching Thursday night TV last year because I became toooooo emotionally involved. It was ridiculous to cry and feel like crap every Thursday. But now I feel out of the loop and I miss it. I am going to try it out again and hopefully keep reality v. TV world apart. I am sure my roommate is going to be thrilled.

I will update you on my progress.

The Follower

Willie was begging for ice cream. Jordy had no idea what she was doing, other than following Willie's lead.

KSU Football - Week Three

KSU v. UCLA - we lost baaaad, but I wasn't too coherent to notice. I was exhausted from my day's festivities of a garage sale and community BBQ.

1. First quarter - mainly coherent, but was focusing on Bill having his pants tucked into his pants AGAIN. Only this time he was wearing a black heringbone-ish patterned dress pant with his jacket tucked in. Not good.

2. Second quarter - could hardly stay awake. Fell asleep.

HALFTIME - I came back alive as my new heartthrob, Pete Carroll was on TV. I generally don't fancy older men, however, he is top of my old man to do list.

3. Third quarter - awesome. I wish we could just end the game here. Saw glimpses of greatness.

4. Fourth quarter - reminded that we still sorely need a kicker. I got tired and fell asleep, again!

Conversation with Granny

Was on the phone with Granny the other day and she informed me her field trip of the day was to go get her flu shot.
Red: Granny, have you received your shingles shot yet?
Granny: No, the last time I asked, Medicare didn't pay for it. I need to check again.
Red: Yes, you know how painful it would be if you get them.
Granny: I don't understand why insurance will pay for Viagra but they won't pay for a shingles shot.
Red: (pause) Are you serious?
Granny: Yes
Red: Granny, I really don't want to know how you know that information!
Granny: Someone told me or else I read it somewhere. (Note to readers: she has had a boyfriend for 20+ years and obviously he is old........)

Hmmmmm....I am still thinking this is too much information.

Side note, IF this is true, it is pretty sad. We should certainly pay for vaccinations before we pay for enhancement drugs. That is about all I plan to say about our healthcare crisis.

Jordy Belle Stevens

So my roommate is not keen on the middle name, but since I am the author of this blog, I get to tell all of my followers what I want her middle name to be. I put a purple collar on her that has a bell (hence the middle name, Belle).

One week down and all has went great!! Took her to the vet on Wednesday and she weighed 4 lb 12 oz, and the vet said she was about 4 months old. Good news to hear, b/c we wanted to get her declawed ASAP (they wait until she is 4 months to do this). So, this Wed. I am taking her in for her declawing and spaying. She will have to stay two nights, so it will be interesting to see how big brother responds to her when she gets back home.

Willie and Jordy are getting along famously. I am so shocked at how patient Willie has been. They are not best friends yet, but they don't really fight. Willie is also teaching her is "best" tricks, such as drinking out of the sink, getting up on the table, getting on the kitchen counter, etc.

Getting a drink.

Taking a bath after her drink.

We were in the process of changing the sheets, and determined that both kids like to play in the sheets. We found them napping together about 30 minutes later.

Jordy is very fond of her new dad as well. She, just like Willie, likes to help him work.

Week Two

The game was not on TV this week, just online, however, I was able to figure out how to hook my computer up to my TV to watch it through the TV. Pretty proud of myself for that. Let's cut to the chase, we lost. However, I do think we are playing with more heart this year. Red's highlights:

1. We need a kicker
2. Still might need a QB
3. Bill needs my fashion advice. (He had his jacket tucked into his pants)

Jordy update to come tomorrow!!

Football - week one

I am going to try and update the Wildcats status each week. While I am sure my analysis will be focused on the social activities of football than the outcome of the game, I will do my best to at least get the winner correct. Sorry roommate, you didn't marry someone overly interested in the actual game of football.

Pretty good sign if you ask me...

(the team mascot was the Minutemen)

We arrive Saturday morning and our friends, the owner of Cousin Eddie the RV, had the best spot for tailgating marked. We were right at the front of the road so we could gawk at every car going by.

A few hours into the tailgate Willie came by in his car. This was very exciting to everyone around. I don't know what is so exciting about a tiny car, but it is!

Willie also has an entourage this year. I plan to apply for this position next year.

The shirt says Mr. Wonderful. Yes, it is Mr. Minnie Stevens! The shirt was supposed to be a birthday gift, however, after about 6 beers, it sounded like a good idea to give it to him a month early.

So, to the game, we won 21 - 17. Let's just say at least it was a "W".

Its a Girl!!!

We adopted a girl cat yesterday, her name is Jordy. (after the great KSU player, now with the Green Bay Packers, Jordy Nelson!). We found Willie's long lost twin!! She is such a sweetie. She was living among 3 other cats so she really loves attention. Willie is adjusting much better than I thought, but I have a feeling he thinks we are just babysitting another cat. It was really bad when she snuggled up in bed in his spot last night!!

All cute with her purple on!!

She is long and lean - let's see how long that lasts!!

Willie is not sure about this....

Trying to play with each other, but are still unsure of each other.

Demented

So I have NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO idea what is wrong with me. I have found myself watching/read the most demeneted, dumb crap on the internet. If you have some time to waste, here is some entertainment:

People of Walmart It is a collection of random pics of happenings at Walmart. I will continually check to see if my Dad shows up on there.

The Biggest Zit in the World: Don't watch this after or before eating. It is gross, but I found myself amused for 4 minutes.

Texts from last night: people submit their texts. Lots of poop talk...I really don't believe that some people text this crap (nice play on words!)

OK, so I guess I need to get back to work....TGIF.

Have a great weekend everyone and GO CATS!!! For sure will post FB pics this week. I can't wait for the Kansas State Family Reunion. Unite purple people!! ;)

Still feeling it

Sorry for the hiatus, I had a wedding and then vacation!! My roommate and I went to one of my favorite spots as a child, Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. Boy, have things changed (meaning me growing older!!). I hadn't skied in 9 or 10 years, however, miraculously I was able to get up the first time. Getting up was the easy part. Hanging on and using my arm and leg muscles that hadn't been used for years was the hardest part. Don't get me wrong, it was still a lot of fun, however, it was a lot more work, i.e., burn in the quads, hams and shoulders.

Next comes day two.....I miraculously get up on my ski again, however, there is some excruciating horrible pain...I can't figure it out, it is in my lower leg. I let go of the rope and ask my driver (my Dad) what the heck it could be. My not so young skin is now bruising easier than ever and the spray (the water coming out from under the ski) from yesterday has bruised my leg. Great. I get back up again, and suffer through as long as I could, but my goodness it hurt. I looked like I had been in a fight after I got out of the water, bruises on the front and back of my legs, not to mention about 30 mosquito bites. I wanted to take pictures, however, my other half thinks I gross out my readers too much so I refrained.

Day two part two....the lake is pretty calm, my favorite time to ski, but guess what, my butt doesn't want to get out of the water. It took me not one, but three times to get up. I am pissed at this point and some measly water spray bruise is not going to stop me from enjoying this experience. I did enjoy it too...the cool breeze, fresh air, sunset and time with my family.
