Two-Ply

Alright....just so you know, I believe you must have two ply toilet paper, hate the one ply that is put in porta potties. With that being said, something has happened to the manufacturing of my two-ply. I cannot get the roll started for the life of me. I have to go through a good 4-5 turns of the roll to get the paper started right, the plys are stuck together and I have to work to get it fixed. So annoying. This is not only happening with my toilet paper at home, but at work too. Please let me know if you have any advice. Some members of my family (not mentioning who and no, not my roommate!) have switched to Charmin wipes, maybe this is the better option.....

Help Yourself

..or at least that is what Willie did last night. I had some cinnamon rolls defrosting that I intended to share with family members coming into town this weekend, however, Willie decided he wanted his part first. Look at the lower right hand corner of the picture below.

Gotta love him!

Just one more update

So, I guess I am not "over" my bird issue. The little babies (and their parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles) were sitting on top of my fence and surrounding me as I was trying to mow the backyard last night. I got scared and turned over the reigns to Superman, I mean, my roommate.

Empty Nest

Glad I took that pic on Sunday b/c the birdies flew the coop on Monday. We believe all but one took flight, but quite honestly, I was too chicken to look in the nest to see if the one took off yet. It is so sad because I think they took off too early, because some can't fly high enough to sit on the fence, so they are stuck in our yard. My roommate and I are so concerned with our new family members he didn't mow the back yard (didn't want to scare them) and we are making sure Mr. Willie doesn't eat them for dessert.

Now, I just need to find the perfect bird feeder to keep my new family around. I am falling in love with the birds.....

AND, for another bird story just in case you didn't see it on TV yet.

We Have Babies!!

NO, not talking about me personally, sorry for any confusion I may have caused there....our deck has become home to four little baby robins. A small nest was built underneath our deck and for the past few days we have noticed lots of birds chirping and flying around with worms to feed the babies. I summoned my courage Saturday afternoon and got a good peek at the nest, and saw four baby beaks. Yesterday I was courageous again and saw them sitting up - here is a picture.

Now, I have to say that I believe this is a sign....this is really helping me get over my fear of birds (somewhat). Although, I do have to admit that every time I am looking at the birds I get scared that the mom is going to swoop in and beak my eyes out. If I suddenly stop posting, you can just assume it is because I can no longer see to type. Until them, I will try to update you on my new family.

To be 4 again

Went to see Amusing Mom and visited the kids for a few days. Interesting thoughts they came up with:

1. Aunt red still has a zit on her face. I (unfortunately) had a zit one time (actually a lot, but this one was pretty bad) and they asked me what it was, so I told them. The next time they saw me they called the mole on my face a zit. I informed them it was a mole. The only thing from these teachings that stuck was zit....therefore every time I see them, they tell me I have a zit on my face. Too bad I still have zits too, and I have to figure out if they are referring to my mole or actual zit.

2. Aunt Red has brown hair. Red is the color of the crayon.

3. When you color the princess' face in your coloring book red, she is sunburned.

4. Little boys need to wear boxer briefs for their safety. I was scared to death Mickey was going to fall off the top of the slide because he was standing up picking his wedgie. He made it down, alive, and probably with another wedgie.

5. Who says stamps can't be fun??

A case of the "Mondays" at the Gym

Just got back to the office after going to the gym and oh, my, was it a day:
1. forgot socks
2. forgot undies (I had to exercise in non-exercising underwear)
3. I was apparently using a lady's locker that she wanted b/c there were about 15 open ones but she had to come right next to me and proceed to invade my space.
4. My normal workout teacher was gone
5. The substitute was not wearing a sports bra - and she needed one. She was wearing this little halter number and had to keep pulling it up - annoying.
6. The gay guy stood NEXT to me, therefore I couldn't occupy myself by laughing (silently) at him b/c I couldn't really see him

Well, that is about all, but I really don't know how much else could have gone wrong except for me falling down the stairs or something....there is always tomorrow.

Life is Precious

I attended the March of Dimes walk today and it was so hard to see all of the families that were walking in honor of a lost child. In the past year, having a child has become more and more scary to me for fear of losing it. I know I can't live my life in fear, and I won't, I will find strength to move forward, but today, my fear became overwhelming. I find myself to be a strong person but when it comes to losing loved ones I am so extremely weak. I crumble in tough times. Today has been hard, but I didn't want to share with anyone, until I read my friend, Sally's journal. She is the mother of an angel, Baby Tommy. She has been so strong through her journey of losing her son, and I wanted to share her words as they are words of healing, strength and comfort.

Life is precious, and I am trying my hardest to enjoy it for all its worth.

Kiddos

They are growing up darn it. New pics of the BIG four year olds.

Spring Game

I should be at the KSU Spring Game this weekend, however, the weather is not going to cooperate, and I have the important March of Dimes walk on Sunday. Some of you may wonder what the Spring Game is - it is a football scrimmage, but people go and tailgate and pretend its a real game. I choose to consider it a "warm-up" for football season. The game is quite a bore since it is the same team against each other, however, obviously the tailgate was quite fun last year!
